Michael David Winery is now into its 6th generation of wine making. Following in its roots of catchy names and labels this particular bottling is no exception. It could be compared to the lady in the room with the red dress on as it is a definite show stopper.
A sense of place is always what draws me to a wine and this is no exception. Only 3 lots were chosen in the last vintage for their structure, spice and ripe berry flavors to for the best for this zinfandel. They were then blended together and aged in new American oak barrels selected specifically for the Lust program. This full bodied wine is rich and layered with deep fruit. It’s full of jam like you would expect from a Zinfandel and the sandy loam soils of Lodi California add a texture and seductiveness that keeps you coming back for more. An extremely well integrated wine. Looking forward to more fantastic wines from this producer!
