This Monday January 29 2018 the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers British Columbia Chapter (CAPS BC) will host it’s 4th annual Best Sommelier of BC Competition held at Rogers Arena in the heart of Vancouver, British Columbia.
This competition is open to anyone working the food/beverage industry as a full time Sommelier. While the competition is fierce there is a strong sense of comradery within the community.
The competition includes a written and blind tasting portion in the morning that takes place behind closed doors. Doors open at noon to the Captains Suite at ROGERS ARENA where the top 3 contenders will be announced and participate in the challenging Service Portion of the competition.
An exciting addition to this year’s competition is the Aspiring Somm BC Competition BC 2018. This is open to any member of CAPS BC who earns at least 50% of their income from hospitality employment in any role as well as having an interest in participating in future Best Somm BC competitions. This event runs from 9am to 12pm on the morning of January 29 2018.
