Ahoy there lads and lasses. This fine evening after working all afternoon I decided to drive down to the heart of Vancouver and enjoy a little Spot prawn platter with our good friends at Tableau Bar & Bistro.
The atmosphere here is very welcoming with a very chic decor that inspires one to sit back, relax and socialize.
As I said it was the final day of the Spot prawn kick off party so I of course ordered up a little spot prawn platter du jour and a glass of of the Joie Farm Muscat 2010 vintage.
This lovely little platter consisted of 2 Spot prawn corn dogs which were deep fried in a lovely beer batter. 3 Whole spot prawns poached to perfect with saffron aioli, cocktail sauce and lemons. Gougere spot prawn sliders with mustard and apple salad, and baked cheddar gougeres. Spot prawn tare tare on a piece of melba toast and the most heavenly cup of Spot prawn head bisque topped with some milk foam. I mention the bisque last as one little sip of this master piece took me to my happy place.
Joie Farm Muscat:
Appearance: Clear – Yellow-Gold
Nose: really ripe green apple, fresh peaches.
Palate: Dry – off dry, med – high acidity, pear, apple, tangerine and fuzzy peach with a medium finish.
alcohol: 12%
Available for $23 per bottle in private liquor stores.
For dessert I enjoyed a piece of Le Gateau Saisonnier (The seasonal cake) Which was a piece of Chocolate Coffee Cake. Along with a cappuccino that was made to perfection.
Service was great and added to my over all experience. I hope they liked me because I’ll be going back.
